Three members of a single family died after consuming toxic mushroom at Lamachaur in Lekhnath Municipality-16 of Pokhara.

The deceased have been identified as Maili Tamang, 60, her 19-year-old daughter Mana Maya Tamang and her eight-year-old grandson Sonam Magar.

Mana Maya and Maili breathed their last during the course of treatment at the Gandaki Medical College and Manipal Hospital respectively on Wednesday, police said.

Similarly, Sonam breathed his last while undergoing treatment on Thursday.

DSP Khadga Bahadur Khatri said that 12-year-old Ayush Magar, who was taken ill after consuming wild mushroom, is receiving treatment at the Kanti Children’s Hospital in Kathmandu.

He is said to be in critical condition.

The incident occurred after they ate curry of the wild mushroom brought from a nearby jungle on Saturday evening.
