The Supreme Court (SC) on Wednesday ordered the Judicial Council (JC) to submit files relating to the appointment of High Court (HC) judges.
A single bench of Justice Ananda Mohan Bhattarai ordered the JC after conducting a hearing on a writ petition filed by Attorney General Durga Bandhu Pokharel.
Pokharel on Tuesday had field the writ petition arguing that JC disregarded seniority basis during the appointment of HC judges and less number of government attorneys was appointed at HC.
The JC on January 12 had appointed 80 judges for High Courts.
Of them, there was representation of a single government attorney. RSS
