Police arrested four people and confiscated 565 kg of marijuana and 46 km of hashish following a shootout that took place at Manhari in Makwanpur district on early Tuesday morning. Thirty-odd smugglers were trafficking the drugs to India when they were confronted by a police team. The shootout ensued when the smugglers open fired at the police. There was no casualty. Police seized Dipendra Rai, Suresh Syangtan, Gopal Blon and Krishna Tamang from the scene along with the sacks containing marijuana and hashish. Most of the smugglers fled.
