He said so during a meeting with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal in Hainan province of China on Friday.
Dahal is currently in Hainan to attend the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2017.
“Nepal is capable enough to solve its internal problems,” the Chinese leader said, adding, “We wish Nepal to move ahead with the same spirit.”
Zhang expressed his happiness over the preparations for local level elections in Nepal and suggested the political parties to move ahead together to iron out the political problems surfacing the country.
Highlighting the long history of friendship between Nepal and China, leader Zhang expressed his hope that PM Dahal’s visit to China would take the Nepal-China relationship to a new height.
“China wants political stability and development in Nepal,” he said.
Saying that Chinese President Xi Jinping would visit Nepal in an appropriate time, the Chinese Vice-Premier said that China was positive towards the issues (railway, business and infrastructure development among others) raised by PM Dahal.
Moreover, he said that China was ready to provide any kind of assistance for the development of Nepal.
Meanwhile, PM Dahal said that Nepal was keen to be involved in the One Belt One Road (OBOR) project.
He also reiterated that Nepal was committed to the One China policy.
Saying that Nepal could benefit greatly from the economic development of China, PM Dahal expected help from the northern neighbour.
“Nepal’s political scenario has been changed with the promulgation of new constitution,” PM Dahal said, adding, “We are preparing for the local level elections.”
“Nepal will have political stability after the implementation of constitution,” PM Dahal, who is also the Chairman of ruling CPN (Maoist Centre), remarked.
“Construction of Rasuwa-Kathmandu-Pokhara-Lumbini railway in Nepal is our priority,” PM Dahal said, adding, "Fuel storage and transmission lines are our necessity."
PM Dahal during the meeting with leader Zhang had also raised the issues of transit treaty and import of petroleum products. In response, the Chinese Vice-Premier said that China was ready for the same, but Nepal has been showing less interest.
Meanwhile, PM Dahal sought Chinese assistance for the development of infrastructure and trade via various border points.
Meanwhile, he also urged the Chinese leader to open the Tatopani border point along with other borders.
The Prime Minister also expressed his commitment to implement the past agreements signed with China.
