A meeting of the SLMM convened at Bijulibazaar in Kathmandu on Tuesday finalised its position following a meeting with the ruling parties—Nepali Congress and CPN (Maoist Centre)—at Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwater earlier today.
“We found Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal inconsistent on his position regarding the constitution amendment. Same thing happened in today’s meeting at Baluwatar,” said Sadbhawana Party General Secretary Manish Kumar Suman.
“Similarly, we’ve decided to return from tomorrow’s talks after presenting our positions that the SLMM won’t take part in any election without amendment of the constitution.”
During the meeting at Baluwatar earlier in the day, Prime Minister Dahal said that he has accorded top priority to constitution amendment though the election date has been announced and he has been trying to take all the opposing parties including the Rastriya Prajatantra Party into confidence.
Meanwhile, the alliance of Madhes-centric parties has expressed its anger at the Sanghiya Samajbadi Forum (SSF)’s move to rush for registering the party following the Election Commission’s notice.
