Two people were killed in separate accidents in Janakpur and Bardiya.

Mahesh Pandey, 19, son of Premnath Pandey of Janakpur Sub Metropolis – 7 was killed on Thursday night after being struck with a motorbike.

Pandey was heading on a cycle towards Mahendranagar on a routine work as a priest when a motorbike (Ja 3 Pa 2359) struck him at Laxminiya road stretch, police said. He succumbed to fatal injuries at Janakpur Zonal Hospital.

Police have detained bike rider, Abhinat Singh, 30, of Janakpur Sub Metropolis – 1. The body is currently being kept at the hospital for an autopsy, according to District Police Office.

Likewise, a pillion rider was killed in bike accident last night along the Thakurdwar Ambasha road stretch of Bardiya.

Nabin Bhandari, a native of Jammukandh of Dailekh, who was working at Suryapatuwa Thakurdwar irrigation, was killed when the motorbike (Bhe 2 Pa 6665) crashed, Area Police Office, Bhurigaun said. Police have detained bike rider Sanjaya Tharu of Shivapur – 9 for investigation. RSS
