The Supreme Court has issued a show cause notice in response to a writ petition filed against the appointment of 80 judges to the High Court.
A single bench of judge Iswar Prasad Khatiwada on Thursday handed down the notice in the name of the Judicial Council. The bench, however, decided not to issue an interim order, according to joint-spokesperson at the apex court Biswaraj Paudel.
The order came in response to a writ petition filed on Wednesday by advocates Toyanath Dhungana and Prakash Kumar Kafley, arguing that the appointments did not meet the criteria of inclusion. The appointment was made on January 12 by the Council. RSS
