Oil tanker plunges into Trishuli, driver missing

A person has gone missing when an oil tanker returning to Amlekhgunj after unloading fuel in Kathmandu plunged into Trishuli River at Chandibhanjyang-5 in Bharatpur, Chitwan, on Tuesday night.
The missing man has been identified as tanker driver Umesh Tamang of Amlekhgunj. Bharatpur police chief SP Dipak Thapa informed the truck (Na 4 Kha 4143) fell some 100 meters down into the river at around midnight. Search personnel from Nepal Police and Armed Police Force have been deployed to locate him, Thapa said. While the tanker was located one kilometer downstream, the driver was nowhere to be found, police said.
Tanker's helper Pradip Lama was injured in the accident. He has been receiving treatment at Old Medical College in Chitwan.
