Police on Tuesday seized 91 kg marijuana from Nijgad in Bara district along the East-West Highway. The police also impounded a truck (Na 3 Kha 866) and a motorbike (Na 34 Pa 6936) along with the contraband drugs.
The cannabis were being transported to Bardibas of Mahottari district from Chuniya of Makwanpur and seized during security check from Sahid Chok, police said. Driver of the truck, Dhan Bahadur Lele, of Newarpani, Hetauda-29, has also been arrested.
Police inspector Nanda Kishor Singh two persons riding on the motorbike fled the scene. Police have been carrying out further investigating about the marijuana.
