Government health facilities in Doti are reeling under shortage of medicines as the regional medical store in Dhangadhi, has not supplied medicines for the last seven months.
Prem Kathayat, the in charge of Mudegaun Health Post, said the facility ran out of essential medicines three months ago, and yet the District Health Office (DHO) has not taken any steps to supply the medicines.
Drugs shortage has also been reported in other health centres in the district.
Ramaswartha Yadav, acting chief of the DHO, said he did not have the authority to invite a tender to purchase medicines. The DHO chief, Rita Bhandari, who had that authority was transferred three months ago. (PR)
