The promises made by Prime Minister Dahal were proven to be lip service, UML leader Prakash Jwala said. “This government has failed on every front. It doesn’t even get a pass mark.”
Prior to being elected the prime minister with the support from Nepali Congress, Dahal, also the chairman of CPN (Maoist Centre), had told Parliament on August 3 that the government under him would carry out different tasks, chief among them constitution amendment to address the concerns of the agitating parties, expediting works to implement the constitution, re-energising the post-earthquake reconstruction works and maintaining balanced relations with India and China.
UML Secretary Yogesh Bhattarai accused that the government of betraying the agitating Madhesi community, neglecting the reconstruction works, and keeping lopsided relations with China and India.
The main opposition has termed the foreign policy of the incumbent government “dubious” that heavily leans towards India while distancing China.
The Dahal administration failed to implement the pacts that were signed with the Chinese side by the previous government, led by KP Sharma Oli, the UML leaders said.
