Dhading
The residents of 13 VDCs in Dhading, who could be displaced by the proposed Budhigandaki Hydropower Project, have demanded Rs 200,000 each for rebuilding homes and additional compensation at the earliest. They submitted a letter to this end to the District Administration Office on Tuesday.
Nearly 3,500 households from the 13 VDCs are expected to be displaced by the proposed hydropower project. Many among them had lost their homes in the 2015 April earthquake, and they have demanded the National Reconstruction Authority to provide them housing reconstruction aid without setting any preconditions.
Chief District Officer Bishwo Prakash Subedi has assured the villagers to communicate their demands to the concerned parties.
