A rhinoceros was found dead in Bhanga of Narayani Municipality-1 in the district on Monday morning.
According to Nurendra Aryal, information officer at Chitwan National Park, the primary investigation hints electric shock as a possible cause of the death.
"The autopsy report of the dead rhino has not yet arrived," said Aryal, "The report will arrive tomorrow while our investigation is on."
The horn and hoofs of the dead rhino are found intact. The rhino is expected to be of some 12 years.
The rhino was found dead near a rented land of Hotel Meghauli Serai. The national park authority has investigated nine individuals including the Hotel staffs in connection to the incident, Aryal said.
