NRNA Europe meet concludes with 13-pt declaration
The Ninth European Regional meeting of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) concluded here in the Danish Capital with 13-point Copenhagen declaration. The aim of the conference was to draw the roadmap for Nepal’s prosperity.

The Ninth European Regional meeting of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) concluded here in the Danish Capital with 13-point Copenhagen declaration. The aim of the conference was to draw the roadmap for Nepal’s prosperity.
“Country’s prosperity is our objective. And a favourable environment for investment is the cornerstone for that,” reads the declaration. “The implementation of the new constitution and political stability will increase the level of confidence.”
The declaration has stressed on the need for consensus and cooperation among the major political parties as political stability is the key to achieve economic prosperity.
“Federation of Neplease Chambers of Commerce (FNCCI) will select projects to promote investment in Nepal as part of the commitment made by Europe-based Nepalis in a bid to expand cooperation between NRN and FNCCI,” reads the declaration, expressing its commitment to bring in investment.
NRNA General Secretary Badri KC issued the declaration after the end of two-day conference on Sunday. He said that the NRNA has entered into the construction phase of 1000 houses after completing the necessary legal procedure as part of its contribution in the post-earthquake rebuilding efforts. He said the NRNA will take initiatives to immediately collect funds for the construction of the houses that would represent the emotions of hundreds of thousands of Nepali living across the globe.
All the speakers at the programme stressed on the institutional development of organisation, and sustainability of the programme. NRNA Founding President Upendra Mahato said that the NRNA has been striving for prosperity of the nation.
NRNA President Shesh Ghale stressed on the need for cooperation among each other and that an individual should become ready for investment. Former President Jiba Lamichhane said the new constitution’s provision of granting citizenship with economic, social and cultural rights to non-resident Nepalis has created opportunity for taking investment in Nepal.
FNCCI President Pashupati Murarka and Banker Chandra Dhakal said that there is no dearth of opportunity in Nepal and said that they could work as partner if any NRN is looking for partner. The 10th conference of NRNA Europe would be held in Germany.
