Sujata warns of grave danger if Oli-govt toppled
Nepali Congress leader Sujata Koirala has warned that seeking an alternative to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli would lead the country towards grave danger.Nepali Congress leader Sujata Koirala has warned that seeking an alternative to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli would lead the country towards grave danger.
She pointed out the possibility of constitution not being implemented if Oli-government was toppled at this critical juncture. “No one should think of toppling the government unless all three elections are conducted,” said leader Koirala at an interaction organised by Reporters Club in the Capital on Monday.
Uncertainty will grasp the country if political parties get involved in game of government-change, she warned.
“Is only Pushpa Kamal Dahal a sole leader of the country for whom the government should be brought down?” asked Koirala. “He cannot become a prime minister under current pretext,” she said.
CPN-UML leader Pradeep Gyawali opined that non-political forces are hatching conspiracies not to allow elections to be conducted so that constitution and political parties could be rendered failed and non-political force could be brought to the power.
Leader Gyawali also opined that if national consensus government under Dahal is agreed among the parties—NC, CPN-UML, Madhes-based parties and Maoist Centre—his party is ready to hop out of the government and stay in opposition.
“We hope that the four parties that came together while promulgating constitution should remain intact. But as NC has clearly stated its bottom line that no two big parties should be in the government together, a national consensus government under this pretext does not seem possible,” said leader Gyawali.
