NC files war crime plaint against Dahal

Stating that Dahal, who was the supreme commander of the then rebel party CPN (Maoist), instructed his party members to murder
NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba during the insurgency, the NC district committee lodged the complaint at the TRC through the Local Peace Committee on Thursday.
The committee has claimed that the Maoist combatants had targeted Deuba’s vehicle with the intent of assassinating him while he was heading to Nepalgunj from Dhangadhi during the insurgency period.
“Congress is our family and Deuba is the main guardian of the family. So we filed a complaint at the commission to investigate into the murder bid made on Deuba,” said Karna Malla, the NC district committee chairman.
“The party decided to file the complaint against Prachanda (Dahal) as the conflict-era crimes in Dadeldhura were carried out as per his instructions.”
The committee has also stated in its complaint that a number of NC activists in Dadeldhura were killed at Dahal’s direct orders during a decade long war waged by the Maoist party.
