Cadres of Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha torched a vehicle of Kantipur Publications in Parsa blaming the publication of publishing news against Madhes.
Morcha cadres stopped the vehicle a Parwanipur Chowk, sprinkled petrol and torched it at around 6 am this morning. The vehicle was returning after delivering newspapers to distributors in Birgunj.
Publications senior Dispatch Ganesh Khadka informed that Morcha cadres had tried to stop the vehicle while it was on its way to Birgunj. “We moved on when they tried to stop the first time. But they had waited for us on the same route and stopped when we returned,” Khadka said.
The vehicle with registration plate Ba 13 Cha 495 has been completely damaged on the arson.
Parwanipur police incharge Sub-inspector Paramananda Yadav informed no arrests were made as the incident occurred early morning when there was no police presence. “We are searching for the arsonists,” he said.
