NASA has promised to announce it has solved a huge mystery surrounding the Red Planet. Many think that it will be an announcement of the presence of liquid water.
Scientist Lujendra Ojha, of the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta will be present at the announcement by the US governant agency. Ojha, currently a PhD candidate, became a sensation when he discovered possible signs of water as a 21-year-old undergraduate student in 2011.
“My main research interest is understanding the evolution of terrestrial planets. I am passionate about studying present day geological features on planetary bodies across the solar system. I have worked on Earth, Mars, Moon, asteroids, comets and have also classified various meteorites,” writes Ojha on his website.
Other experts at this event are Jim Green, the director of planetary science at NASA and Michael Meyer, lead scientist for the Mars Exploration Program.
According to NASA’s website a brief question-and-answer session will take place during the event. People can also use the hashtag #AskNasa to ask questions about the event.
Ojha is a native of Kathmandu.
