‘Know Pages, Know Screen’ workshop begins
The week-long workshop focuses on the pre-production phase of cinema.Post Report
The second edition of Know Pages, Know Screen, a filmmaking workshop, is currently happening at the Kathmandu University School of Arts Hattiban campus.
This year's workshop, which began on December 22, is an initiative by LSM Productions with support from HongJun Nepal, Global Media Makers by Film Independent, USA, and the Department of Languages and Mass Communication, Kathmandu University School of Arts. It focuses on the pre-production phase of cinema crafting.
According to Sailesh RC, the founder of this workshop, this year’s programme will explore script analysis, script breakdown and pre-visualisation, production design, casting and directing actors, sound design, budgeting, and marketing processes in film production.
Interactive panel discussions, seminars, and a pitching session will follow, during which participants can pitch their screenplays to industry experts.
The workshop’s cohort has been picked from more than 90 submissions. Professionals from the Nepali film sector will tutor them. The participants for the second edition include Ambika Bhandari, Ankit Ghimire, Bhisma Joshi, Gaumaya Gurung, Khushi Giri, Luja Manandhar, Patrika Ghimire, Ritesh Gurung, Sanjiwan Rai, Shyam Bahadur Limbu and Siddartha Nepali.
The mentorship team includes creative heads, including Pashupati Rai, Keshab Pandey, Shishir Bishankhe, Sushant Shrestha, Sunir Pandey, Ramlal Khadka, Aneel Neupane and Sailendra Dhoj Karki.
