NEPSE posts modest gain on Monday

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index posted a modest rise on Monday, increasing by 9.19 points to close at 2,631.48, marking a 0.35 percent gain from the previous session.
Market activity remained moderate, with investors executing 63,371 transactions involving 14,172,525 shares, resulting in a total turnover of approximately Rs6.39 billion.
Of the listed companies, 145 saw gains, while 103 recorded losses, reflecting a balanced yet cautious sentiment among investors.
Among the 13 sub-indices, sectors such as finance, hotel and tourism, hydropower, and others closed in the red. In contrast, manufacturing and processing, life insurance, and non-life insurance posted gains.
Rapti Hydro and General Construction, Dhaulagiri Microfinance, and Wean Nepal Laghubitta each surged by over 9 percent, emerging as the day’s top performers.
On the losing end, Panchakanya Mai Hydropower declined by 4.92 percent, followed by Green Development Bank at 4.65 percent, and People’s Hydropower Company at 3.75 percent.
