NEPSE gains 19.04 points as daily turnover nears Rs10 billion
Benchmark index climbs to 2,688.55 despite broad sectoral declines.

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index rose by 19.04 points on Thursday to close at 2,688.55, marking a 0.71 percent increase compared to the previous trading day. This follows Wednesday’s decline of 7.94 points.
Despite the uptick in the benchmark index, most sectoral indices ended the day lower. Only the banking, microfinance, mutual fund, and non-life insurance sub-indices recorded gains. Other sectors, including development banking, hotels and tourism, hydropower, trading, life insurance, and manufacturing and processing, declined.
A total of 86,685 transactions were executed during the day, with over 22.39 million shares changing hands. The daily turnover stood at Rs9.82 billion.
Out of the 247 listed companies, 104 saw their share prices rise, 142 declined, and one remained unchanged.
