Sunil KC elected NICCI president

The 30th annual general meeting (AGM) of the Nepal-India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NICCI) elected Sunil KC as its president for the next two years.
KC is the managing director of Singati Hydro Energy Ltd.
The AGM also elected Batu Lamichhane, Kunal Kayal, Anil Kumar Shah, Karan Chaudhary, Sashi Kanta Agrawal, Siddhartha Majumdar, Ravi Kumar Rayavaram, Kiran Malla and Ramesh Sharma as members.
As per the association’s charter, the newly elected president appointed Rajan Sharma, Uttam Lama, and Arun KC as members.
KC, who hails from Dang, started his early years as a reporter for Radio Swargadwari FM and then started the news show ‘Khoj Khabar’. He is an adviser to the Independent Power Producers Association of Nepal and a think tank member at the Nepal Intermodal Transport Development Board of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Supplies.
President KC said that he would work to strengthen Nepal-India business ties and attract Indian investment in Nepal's energy, tourism, cross-border digital payment, and manufacturing sectors. He said he would play a role in holding the Nepal-India Investment Summit every two years and establishing a Nepal Innovation Centre in India to support start-ups.
Speaking at the AGM, Energy Minister Dipak Khadka said NICCI should play a pivotal role in attracting Indian investment in Nepal's energy sector.
He said that Nepal and India have signed an energy deal to trade 10,000 MW of hydropower to India in 10 years, which requires NICCI support to facilitate Indian investment and technical know-how for Nepal's development.
