4th edition of Nepal Infrastructure Summit from September 8

The Confederation of Nepalese Industries is organising the fourth edition of Nepal Infrastructure Summit-2022 on September 8.
The two-day event will be held in Kathmandu with the theme ‘Infrastructure for Growth’. The organiser is expecting more than 600 participants from 25 different countries.
With the world facing a capital shortage and becoming increasingly challenging to invest in the infrastructure sector due to rising interest, the summit will try to minimise it through discussions by taking the trust of national and international investors focusing on innovative financial equipment and model, the press statement by confederation states.
Analysing the major obstacles to infrastructure development like transportation, energy, urban development, drinking water and sanitation among others, the event has objectives to encourage the government’s commitment and improvement for infrastructure development, attract private sector investment in the infrastructure sector and prioritise projects that support environment-friendly infrastructure.
The summit is believed to revive the concept of the innovative financial model, foreign direct investment, and additional engagement of the private sector, technology and digital transfer. Intense discussions will be held on investment promotion for infrastructure and obstacles to the development of infrastructure with national and international infrastructure experts, investors, three levels of government and representatives from the private sector.
The confederation organised its first edition of the Infrastructure Summit in 2014, second in 2017 and third in 2019.
