Domestic smartphone dealers have lined up a batch of mid-range devices for launch this month. Huawei, Micromax and Gionee are preparing to roll out their latest products which priced between Rs13,000 to Rs38,000.

Gionee’s most awaited Elife S7 is slated to be unveiled on April 12. Sanjay Agrawal, cheif executive officer of Teletalk, the authorised distributor of Gionee in Nepal, said that the phone would tentatively be priced at Rs38,000 in the domestic market.

The phone, which is 5.5 mm thick, is the slimmest yet from Gionee. It features a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED screen. The company claims it to be its most powerful model.

The phone has an aviation-grade alloy unibody design. It is powered by a 64-bit 1.7 GHz Octa-core MediaTek processor and runs on Android Lollipop 5.0 OS-based Amigo 3.0 operating system. It has 2 GB RAM and comes with 16 GB of internal storage.

The phone is equipped with a 13 MP rear and an 8 MP front-facing camera. “The Elife S7 is the slimmest phone and is packed with the latest technology. So we have high expectations from this model,” said Agrawal.

Similarly, Pashupati Trade Link, the authorised distributor of Micromax in Nepal, is set to introduce the Micromax Fire 4 smartphone. It possesses a 4.5-inch FWVGA screen and runs on Lollipop 5.0 operating system. Bhupal Chhetri, sales manager of the company, said that the set would be available within a week and cost around Rs13,000.

The phone is powered by a 1.3 GHz MediaTek quad-core processor and features 1 GB RAM, 8 GB inbuilt memory and 2,000 mAh battery. The phone is equipped with an 8 MP rear and a 2 MP secondary camera. The Fire 4 also features dual firing speakers and Cirrus Logic Wolfsan Stereo DAC (WM8918) digital analogue converter. “This phone will be competing with various budget smartphones in the country,” added Chhetri.

Likewise, Roshan Neupane, marketing manager of Call Mobility, the authorised distributor of Huawei in Nepal, said that its latest phone the Honor 4X Cherry would arrive in the market by mid-April. The company has not finalised the prices yet.

According to Call Mobility, the Honor 4X comes with a 5.5-inch IPS display. Powered by a 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quad core processor, the phone runs on the latest Android operating system. Other features of the phone include 2 GB RAM, 8 GB internal storage, 13 MP rear camera and 5 MP front facing camera and 3,000 mAh battery.
