Humla
Snowfall in Humla has affected the ongoing polio vaccination campaign in the district. Continuous snowfall in the district has led to the postponement of the vaccination drive that was launched in the district on January 22. Sarita Bohara of District Hospital, Humla, said owing to heavy snowfall in the district, health workers could not reach the vaccination centres that had been set up in 27 places. Measles and rubella vaccination programme has also been hit due to snowfall in Humla, officials said. More than 5,000 children under five were expected to be inoculated against polio, measles and rubella. (RSS)
