Armed Police Force Superintendent Balram Pokharel died in a road accident on Nijgadh-Pathlaiya road stretch in Bara district on Saturday night. Chief District Officer Ganesh Prasad Bhattarai was also critically injured in the incident. The accident occurred when a jeep (Na 1 Jha 1633) hit the trailer of a parked tractor near Pasaha Khola in Jitpur Simara Sub-metropolitan City. Meanwhile, Bhattarai was airlifted to Kathmandu for treatment on Sunday. Driver Jagat Raut and APF Constable Shambhu Gurung sustained minor injuries in the accident. (PR)
