A 35-member Gender-based Violence Control Network has been formed under Senior Superintendent of Police at the Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu, Basanta Kumar Lama. The network was formed on Sunday upon discussions on controlling GBV with the officials of bodies concerned in crime investigation by implementing the Community Police Partnership Concept. The committee was formed as per the guideline approved by the Crime Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police, and Women and Children Service Directorate with an objective to developing coordination and partnership with stakeholders to maintain law and order in the society. SSP Lama said the police partnership programme was launched in community to create awareness against GBV. (RSS)
