Distribution of national identity cards is taking place in two districts of Sudurpaschim Province. Officials at the Department of National Identity and Civil Registration said the people of Achham and Kanchanpur districts will have national ID cards within current fiscal year. The government started national ID card programme from Panchthar from November, 2018. The department has already issued 100,000 ID cards in Panchthar and 7,000 to the employees of Singha Durbar. The programme currently underway in 15 districts of seven provinces. The department plans to distribute over 3.5 million ID cards this fiscal year. (RSS)
