Rastriya Janata Party-Nepal’s candidate for ward chairman in Rajbiraj Municipality-15 died on Saturday. Mahanthi Yadav, 65, who was suffering from blood cancer, died at his home, Superintendent of Police Mukesh Kumar Singh. Chief election officer of Saptari Sharada Prasad Koirala, however, said he had no knowledge about the death of the candidate. The election of the ward will be postponed if the election office is formally informed about the candidate’s demise, he added. (PR)
