Phase III polls: EC orders strict surveillance along border areas

With just three days away for the last leg of local level elections, the Election Commission on Friday directed the security agencies to beef up security along the Nepal-India border.
Chief Election Commission Ayodhee Prasad Yadav who had reached Province 2 to monitor final preparations of the elections urged the security agencies to manage proper security for the third phase of local level polls taking place in eight districts of Province 2 on September 18.
He also held a meeting with chief district officers, chief election officers and chief of security agencies this evening.
The EC said that CEC Yadav directed all to create conducive environment to hold elections in a free and fair manner.
