A total of 430 factories have been registered in the district during the fiscal year 2016/17.

According to the Small and Cottage Industry Development Board, the highest number of factories has been registered towards service-oriented which stands at 134.

Similarly, 72 production-oriented factories, 170 agro, 82 tourism and 72 construction related factories were registered during the period.

Likewise, factories related to furniture, poultry form, workshop, dairy, beauty parlour and herbs were also registered.

Senior Accountant at the office, Indra Bahadur Thapa, said that number of factories registered in the last fiscal year was more as compared to previous fiscal year.

Similarly, 38 factories were scrapped during the period. RSS
