Two persons drowned in a local rivulet in Kaplivastu district.

The deceased have been identified as Indrawati Yadav, 33, and Rima Kohar, 15, of Yashodhara rural municipality-2 in the district, said police.

The incident took place as they had gone to cut grass to make a broom. Indrawati drowned in the rivulet when she went to save Rima after seeing her falling down into the rivulet.

Police said that both the bodies have been taken to the District Hospital for a post-mortem. RSS
