Minister for Information and Communications Surendra Kumar Karki has stressed the need for separate mechanisms to deal with television and radio.
At an interaction on the “necessity of digitalised television” organised in the Capital on Thursday, Karki said the ministry alone was unable to handle the acts of providing operating licences to radio and television and to regulate them, highlighting the need to form separate authorities to do the task effectively.
Minister Karki said the country was not well prepared to use the latest communication technology available in the field.
