The ruling CPN-UML has urged all the political parties to refrain from actions that would push the nation towards instability. The ruling party’s call comes at a time when its coalition partner—UCPN (Maoist) is vying for a change in government under its leadership.

In a UML standing committee meeting held at Prime Minister’s residence, Baluwatar on Wednesday, the ruling party called for unity among the political parties at a time when national consensus is most needed regarding issues of state delineation among others.

UML party secretary Yogesh Bhattarai, after the meeting, said, “UML has always worked in favour of national consensus since the 12-point agreement till the 16 point agreement. We call for all the parties to stay put regarding the same through today’s meeting.”
