EC scraps Minister Singh's party for not furnishing financial details

A Board meeting of the election body on Sunday scrapped the parties including Samajbadi Janata Party of Singh were scrapped.
Acting Chief Election Commissioner Ayodhee Prasad Yadav said the parties were scrapped for not abiding electoral law despite election body’s repeated instruction. The parties scrapped by the EC incudes Samajbadi Janata Party, Janata Dal United, Janata Party Nepal, Nepali Janata Party, Nepal Janabhawana Party, Sa-shati Nepal, Nepal Rastriya Loktantrik Dal, Nepal Rastriya Janakalyan Party, Janamukti Party Nepal, Shiva Sena and Liberal Samajbadi Party.
Similarly, Nawa Nepal Prajatantrik Dal, Sanghiya Loktantrik Party and Samajbadi Party were scrapped for violating existing law.
The election body has also fine over 100 parties including three parties headed by sitting ministers for not submitting income and expenditures within the set deadline. CPN-ML headed by Deputy Prime Minister CP Mainali, Bahujan Shakti Party of Science and Technology Minister Bishendra Paswan and Madhes Samata Party of State Minister for Industry Meghraj Nepali ‘Dusad” were fined 100 for not submitting financial details to election commission in time.
