Various educational institutions are organising a campaign on Friday to form a human chain at Chakrapath in the Capital.
Both the agencies have noted that the government is committed to respect and protect child rights as the state party to the Convention of the Rights of the Child-1989 and urged the organisers to put forward the campaign on the involvement of adult rather than children.
Children indeed have the right to articulate their expressions and opinions about the difficulties they have faced, however, a child-friendly environment is indispensable for their protection and development, reads the statement jointly issued by Ministry Spokesperson Narayan Prasad Kafle, Committee's Executive Chairperson Tarak Dhital and Children as Zones of Peace and Child Protection National Campaign Chairperson Krishna Subedi on Thursday.
