As per the agreement among the major parties, Baglung has been divided among state number 4 and 5.
Disgruntled lawmakers led by Chitra Bahadur KC and Shree Maya Thakali met Political Dialogue and Consensus Committee (PDCC) Chairman Baburam Bhattarai and submitted a memorandum against breaking the district. The lawmakers have also announced the formation of a struggle committee against the division.
The lawmakers have said that the decision to divide the district was taken without giving any regards to the peoples’ representatives from the district.
A general strike has also been called in Baglung district in protest today by the political parties and Baglung chapter of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
