Chairman of the Natural Disaster Relief and Rescue Committee, Jhapa, and Chief District Officer, Tej Prasad Poudel, said relief materials worth over Rs 8.5 million and cash over Rs 25 million was collected.
According to the Committee, the government of Bangladesh provided relief materials worth around Rs 500 million including 10,000 metric tonnes of rice, tarpaulin sheets and food stuff, among other items.
Similarly, the government of West Bengal State of India also provided tarpaulin sheets around Rs 200 million.
