Thapa takes initiatives for consensus through 'dinner meet'

Top leaders of all the parties supporting republic system have been invited to the dinner at his residence in Maligaun, Kathmandu.

Prime Minister Sushil Koirala, CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli, leader Madhav Nepal, UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Tarai Madhes Loktantrik Party Chairman Mahanta Thakur, Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (Loktantrik) Chairman Bijaya Kumar Gachhadar, Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (Nepal) Chairman Upendra Yadav, Sadbhawana Party Chairman Rajendra Mahato and RPP Chairman Pashupati Shumsher Rana have attended the dinner meeting.
However, Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal Chairman Kamal Thapa, whose party is against the current republican system and dissenting senior leader of RPP Lokendra Bahadur Chand have not been invited for the meeting.
Sources privy to leader Thapa said that the meeting was intended towards ending the current political deadlock and pave the way for constitution drafting.
