Veep Jha returns from China trip
Vice President Parmananda Jha returned home on Monday after visiting Lhasa, the capital of the Tibet Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China.He had left for Lhasa on September 24 to attend the First China-Tibet Tourism and Cultural Expo that took place there from September 25 to 27.
The Expo was jointly organised by the Ministry of Culture of the Government of the Tibet Autonomous Region and the National Tourism Centre. Vice President Jha also went on a pilgrimage to Kailas Manasarovar after participating in the expo, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated.
Vice President Jha was accompanied by his spouse, Secretary at the Office of the Vice-President Raj Kumar Malla, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambikadevi Luintel, among others, during the trip.
He was welcomed by Acting Prime Minister Bamdev Gautam, Minister for Information and Communications Minendra Rijal, Minister for Energy Radha Gyawali, Chief Secretary Leelamani Poudel among other high level officials at Tribhuvan International Airport.
Talking to the journalists at the airport, Vice-president Jha said that only Nepal was invited as the guest in the expo for this year and other countries would be invited from coming years. RSS
