Don ‘Chari’ cremated after 17 days
Don Dinesh Adhikari alias ‘Chari’, who was killed in cross-fire with police earlier this month, was cremated at Pashupati Aryaghat in the Capital on Saturday.
Ekantipur Report
Chari was killed at Bhimdhunga, seven kilometres from Sitapaila, in the Capital on August 6.
Khem Lohani, central committee member of CPN-UML, covered Chari’s body with party's flag before the cremation at Pashupati Aryaghat today.
Local leaders from Dhading, Chari's supposed girlfriend Khusbu Oli and other dons including Chakre Milan had attended the final rites.
The post-mortem report had shown that there were seven bullets lodged in Chari’s body, among them only one was recovered stuck in the spine. Other bullets had pierced the body.
Relatives of Chari have been claiming that police killed him in a fake encounter. After the police refused to lodge a complaint, Supreme Court on Thursday had ordered the police to furnish an explanation for not registering the complaint filed by relatives of Chari.
