Shiva Poudel murder: 8 sentenced to life in prison
The district court of Chitwan on Thursday slapped life imprisonment on eight individuals accused in the murder of Chitwan Tarun Dal president Shiva Poudel.

A single bench of Justice Binod Mohan Acharya pronounced the verdict, convicting Sunil Gurung, Sunil KC, Saran Gurung, Suraj Shrestha, Phanindra Shrestha, Dil Bahadur Lama, Sujendra Rai and Amir Gurung, in the murder of Poudel.
Likewise, the court convicted five accomplices in the murder and handed down five-year jail term to them. Parkash Tamang, Amit Lama, Bikram Lama, Chandra Bahadur Thapa, Bhim Kumar Pakhrin and Raj Kumar Ghlan were convicted as accomplices.
However, the court gave clean-chit to13 individuals of 27 arrested in the connection with the murder case. Poudel was murdered on December 6, 2011.
