Local residents in Salyan have been hugely benefited after the district hospital started treatment for snakebites. “The district hospital began providing treatment of the snakebite patients from this summer season.

The snakebite patients need not to go outside the district for treatment.

Two snakebite patients visited the hospital and returned home after treatment,” said Dr Arjun Budhamagar, chief at the health service office in Salyan.

According to him, the district hospital has enough anti-snake venom currently. Incidents of snakebite are on the rise in Salyan, a hill district of Karnali Province, over the past few years.
