Six including election officer injured in Jumla jeep accident

Six persons including an election officer were injured when a jeep heading to a voting centre met with an accident at Tatopani Rural Municipality-4, Rawatbada on Thursday afternoon.
Election officer Hari Prasad Devkota, assistant election officer Aadi Prasad Neupane, Nepal Police Sub Inspector Sitaram Darai, Assistant Head Constable Suraj Chand, Police Constable Rajendra Bista and an office assistant were injured when the jeep veered off the road and fell some 20 metres down.
Police Inspector Dharma Raj Joshi said the police personnel have sustained a serious injury in the mishap. All the injured are undergoing treatment at the Jumla-based Karnali Academy of Health Sciences.
The jeep carrying election materials was en route to a voting centre in Tatopani-8 from Khalanga, the district headquarters.
