Nepal reports 490 new Covid-19 cases, six deaths
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,388 and the number of active cases stands at 10,151.Post Report
Nepal on Friday reported 490 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 811,897.
Similarly, 59 people tested positive in a total of 2,601 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Friday, 4,409,727 PCR and 656,357 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 7,145 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported six Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,388. The number of active cases stands at 10,151.
According to the ministry, 790,358 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 569 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 228 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 173 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 31 in Lalitpur and 24 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 71 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 16 in Province 2, 255 in Bagmati, 62 in Gandaki, 72 in Lumbini, two in Karnali and 12 in Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, four districts are home to more than 500 active cases each; nine other districts host more than 200 active cases each and one district—Mugu—has active zero cases.
On Friday, 242 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 78-19 in Province 1, 47 in Bagmati, two in Gandaki, seven in Lumbini and one in Karnali and two in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Thursday reported 527 new coronavirus cases and two deaths. Similarly, 582 new coronavirus cases and eight deaths were recorded on Wednesday and 569 new coronavirus cases and 11 deaths were rep[orted on Tuesday.
