Nepal reports 582 new Covid-19 cases, eight deaths
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,380 and the number of active cases stands at 10,375.Post Report
Nepal on Wednesday reported 582 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 810,880.
Similarly, 90 people tested positive in a total of 2,328 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Wednesday, 4,393,734 PCR and 648,921 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 7,167 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported eight Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,380. The number of active cases stands at 10,375.
According to the ministry, 789,125 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 495 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 202 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 137 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 50 in Lalitpur and 15 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 189 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 25 in Province 2, 239 in Bagmati, 65 in Gandaki, 53 in Lumbini, five in Karnali and six in Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, five districts are home to more than 500 active cases each; eight other districts host more than 200 active cases each and one district—Mugu—has active zero cases.
On Wednesday, 254 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 86-23 in Province 1, 54 in Bagmati, two in Gandaki, six in Lumbini and one in Karnali—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Tuesday reported 569 new coronavirus cases and 11 deaths. Similarly, 673 new coronavirus cases and 13 deaths were recorded on Monday and 522 new coronavirus cases and three deaths were reported on Sunday.
