Nepal reports 522 new Covid-19 cases, three deaths
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,348 and the number of active cases stands at 10,201.Post Report
Nepal on Sunday reported 522 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 809,056.
Similarly, 35 people tested positive in a total of 1,564 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Sunday, 4,368,512 PCR and 644,092 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 6,061 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported three Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,348. The number of active cases stands at 10,201.
According to the ministry, 787,507 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 877 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 209 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 159 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 41 in Lalitpur and nine in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 81 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 16 in Province 2, 293 in Bagmati, 67 in Gandaki, 58 in Lumbini, six in Karnali and one in Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, three districts are home to more than 500 active cases each; 13 other districts host more than 200 active cases each and one district-Mugu—has active zero cases.
On Sunday, 273 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 85-25 in Province 1, 51 in Bagmati, two in Gandaki, four in Lumbini, one in Karnali and two in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Saturday reported 438 new coronavirus cases and eight deaths. Similarly, 574 new cases and 11 Covid-19 related deaths were reported on Friday and 470 new Covid-19 cases and eight deaths were reported on Thursday.
