Nepal reports 470 new Covid-19 cases, eight deaths
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,326 and the number of active cases stands at 11,315.Post Report
Nepal on Thursday reported 470 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 807,522.
Similarly, 75 people tested positive in a total of 1,963 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Thursday, 4,350,226 PCR and 638,446 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 6,586 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported eight Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,326. The number of active cases stands at 11,315.
According to the ministry, 784,881 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 726 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 214 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 147 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 51 in Lalitpur and 16 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 61 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 10 in Province 2, 266 in Bagmati, 55 in Gandaki, 54 in Lumbini, nine in Karnali and 15 in Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, four districts are home to more than 500 active cases each; 14 other districts host more than 200 active cases each and two districts—Mustang and Mugu—have active zero cases.
On Thursday, 288 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 98-25 in Province 1, 59 in Bagmati, two in Gandaki, seven in Lumbini, two in Karnali and three in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Wednesday reported 535 new cases and 13 Covid-19 related deaths.
