Nepal reports 535 new Covid-19 cases, 13 deaths
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,318 and the number of active cases stands at 11,579.Post Report
Nepal on Wednesday reported 535 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 807,052.
Similarly, 127 people tested positive in a total of 1,404 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Wednesday, 4,343,640 PCR and 636,483 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 7,022 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported 13 Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,318. The number of active cases stands at 11,579.
According to the ministry, 784,155 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 758 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 250 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 192 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 35 in Lalitpur and 23 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 52 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 11 in Province 2, 294 in Bagmati, 57 in Gandaki, 90 in Lumbini, 16 in Karnali and 15 in Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, four districts are home to more than 500 active cases each; 15 other districts host more than 200 active cases each and two districts—Mugu and Mustang—have active zero cases.
On Wednesday, 276 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 104-25 in Province 1, 65 in Bagmati, two in Gandaki, seven in Lumbini, two in Karnali and three in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Tuesday reported 957 new cases and 12 Covid-19 related deaths.
