Nepal reports 957 new Covid-19 cases, 12 deaths
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,305 and the number of active cases stands at 11,815.Post Report
Nepal on Tuesday reported 957 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 806,517.
Similarly, 139 people tested positive in a total of 1,776 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Tuesday, 4,336,618 PCR and 635,079 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 8,140 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported 12 Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,305. The number of active cases stands at 11,815.
According to the ministry, 783,397 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 1,004 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 354 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 243 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 87 in Lalitpur and 24 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 132 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 18 in Province 2, 556 in Bagmati, 127 in Gandaki, 104 in Lumbini, two in Karnali and 18 in Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, four districts are home to more than 500 active cases each and 17 other districts host more than 200 active cases each.
On Tuesday, 267 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 86-21 in Province 1, 52 in Bagmati, two in Gandaki, six in Lumbini, two in Karnali and three in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Monday reported 523 new cases and nine Covid-19 related deaths.
